The London Distillery set in motion plans devised by Ralph Dodd in 1807 to produce high end spirits in London. As part of the refurbishment of the TESTBED1® historic warehouses, aLL Design were appointed to redesign a portion of the building to house the first whiskey distillery, in a century, to operate in London.

The facility accommodated machinery that resembled something out of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, which enabled bespoke gin and whiskey to be produced with a variety of rare ingredients. The distillery became a vital part of TESTBED1®'s success, serving experimental spirits in the Doodle Bar as well as exporting Dodd's Gin worldwide.

The distillery moved home in 2015 when the TESTBED1® site in Battersea was marketed for sale to developers.
