My Space Pod is a modular Pod system devised by aLL Design which applies itself to numerous applications from a single Pod unit to a whole campus housing thousands of students or workers. It offers an efficient, quick to build, modular Pod system accommodation for Hotels, Nursing Home, Student accommodation and Key Workers. It lends itself to numerous applications in providing accommodation solutions in locations where people need to be. The Pods are capable of being stacked together up to 15 storeys high. Ideally designed for small plots of 1,000m²–2,000m², over levels of four or five storey high to provide the intercommunicating complexes of 100 to 250 Pods. My Space Pod aims to lead the way in sustainable living. The system ensures lower wastage during construction, incorporating in its projects the latest green technologies and standards of environmentally friendly, energy compliant products. The Pods produce less carbon emissions and use less energy for heating because they contain double insulation. This particular site is located to the south-west end of Lower Marsh, close to Westminster Bridge Road and on the side of the railway leading to Waterloo Station to the North West. The building uses a modular system for construction. In partnership with Network Rail, the developers have proposed this system as it enables the construction to be undertaken on the basis that it can be dismantled if necessary. Network Rail is granting a medium term lease only for the site. The selected modular system is procured through My Space Pod.
